The Recreation and Parks Association of the Yukon (RPAY) is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with Yukon groups, agencies, and individuals to promote and support healthy, active lifestyles in the Yukon. Established in 1993, RPAY has grown from a small volunteer board to a staff of four. Mission Statement: The Recreation and Parks Association of the Yukon is a group of individuals who empower Yukon's people and communities to adopt healthy lifestyles. Goal: To promote, encourage and foster the growth and development of all areas of recreation throughout the Yukon Territory. Objectives: 1) To provide the opportunity for everyone involved in the field of recreation to meet, to present their views and concerns, and to discuss and exchange ideas, methods and techniques. 2) To offer solely or in conjunction with other organizations, leadership development for volunteers and practitioners through conferences, seminars and workshops based on the interest of its members. 3) To act as a leader to express the needs and interests of our members and other groups with similar aims with an impact on the provision of recreation services. 4) To provide a channel of communication and information concerning new ideas, resources (financial, human, etc.), methods and techniques in the field of recreation. 5) To provide recognition to those who have made a contribution to the field of recreation.
